A man raised alarm on X after houses belonging to Igbo men in Lagos were demolished by the government. Rather than sympathy, some responses came with mockery. One shocking comment read: “Infact let them pull all the houses down.” Such insensitivity shows how division has eaten deep into our society. Losing a home is devastating, regardless of tribe or location, and no one deserves to have their pain trivialized. Instead of mocking, we should be united in demanding fairness, justice, and due process. Celebrating another’s loss only deepens distrust and weakens the collective fight against injustice.
