After the alleged statement by Governor Alex Otti criticizing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the demolition of Igbo-owned properties in Lagos Trade Fair, the conversation unfortunately took a tribal turn. One user wrote, “Igbo people are the biggest mumu in Nigeria. Hausa Yoruba are more learned than these so-called Igbos who hate themselves with passion.”
This comment is deeply offensive and divisive. Rather than addressing the issue of alleged injustice or property demolition, it resorts to ethnic insult and unnecessary comparison among tribes. Such remarks only fuel hostility and disunity among Nigerians, shifting focus away from meaningful dialogue and the need for fair governance and national unity.
