After an Igbo man built houses for all his siblings on the same street to promote peace and unity, the story attracted widespread admiration. However, amidst the praise, one bigoted comment surfaced: “When Yorubabpons are thinking of how to either skull mine their fellow brother or lay poison to catch their fellow baboon just to take his property.” This statement is not only tribalistic but also hateful, using animalistic slurs to insult an entire ethnic group. Such remarks fuel division and resentment among Nigerians. Acts of kindness should unite, not become an excuse to spread hate or deepen tribal stereotypes.
