A disturbing statement on X read, “Even Burna Boy can tell Phyno and Flavour to leave Lagos, the Yorubas will support him, and there’s nothing any Igbo immigrant can do about it.” — a divisive post aimed at fueling tribal tension and hate. Unfortunately, another user responded with even more bigotry, writing, “Lol, 10 of ur miserable papa no fit. One Igbo is equal to 10 yaribaboons.” Instead of condemning the initial hate speech, this reply worsened the hostility. Such exchanges only deepen ethnic divides and normalize hate language online. Constructive dialogue, not tribal insults, is what Nigeria truly needs.
