Under the heartbreaking video of a midnight demolition in Lagos—where residents were still inside their homes—another alarming comment surfaced: “And the neighborhood didn’t come out to beat the living daylight out of those people? Omo Nigerians are really cowards oh.” Such a statement dangerously promotes mob action and violence instead of lawful protest or accountability. Encouraging people to attack officials or workers only worsens chaos and risks more lives. Nigerians aren’t cowards for choosing peace; they’re citizens failed by a system that should protect them. Justice must be pursued through due process, not through violent retaliation or public incitement.
