Instead of celebrating the army’s achievement, many Nigerians dismissed the report as propaganda.
One particularly cynical comment read, “A real Nigerian won’t believe this update even at gunpoint.” While skepticism about government reports is understandable due to past inconsistencies, outright disbelief in every national success story is dangerous. It demoralizes the armed forces risking their lives to protect the nation and spreads hopelessness.
