Original post: a man begged Nigerians for help after a supposedly wealthy stranger — allegedly with naval officers — destroyed his car because of how he drove. The victim pleaded for justice, citing abuse of influence and needless damage.

Comment: “Sit down there and be crying when 2 by 2 full street.” (Here “2 by 2” — a plank of wood — is suggested as a weapon to beat the attacker.)

That reply is dangerous and irresponsible. Encouraging vigilante violence turns victims into perpetrators and risks escalation, injury, or criminal charges. The correct response is to document the incident, file a police complaint, gather witnesses, and demand accountability from relevant authorities and oversight bodies — not to arm the street. Justice is achieved through evidence and law, not retaliation.
