Main Post:
Journalist Oseni Ruffai noted that Peter Obi cast his vote in the ongoing Anambra governorship election. Obi lamented that democracy in Nigeria is deteriorating and that those benefiting from bad governance are fueling it.
Comment:
“I love OBI but I love BIAFRA NOTION MORE. We are IGBOS AND NOT ONE PEOPLE WITH OTHER TRIBES IN NGERIA. Let’s go our separate ways.”
Blog Post:
This comment completely misses Obi’s point. His statement was about Nigeria’s failing democracy and the need for better governance, not ethnicity or separation. Turning such an issue into a tribal argument only fuels division and distracts from the real problem—corruption and bad leadership. Democracy thrives on unity, not separation. Claiming that Igbos are “not one people” with others ignores the shared struggles all Nigerians face. The fight should be against bad governance, not against each other.

When a call for reform turns tribal, that’s a red flag.
