A disturbing video surfaced of a man claiming that Muslims would kill those who refuse to join Islam or pay tax after taking their lands. In response, one comment read, “I wonder what a normal human being will choose Islam for as a religion.”
While the man’s threat is extremist and unacceptable, responding by condemning an entire religion is equally wrong. That man represents himself and his warped ideology, not the over one billion peaceful Muslims worldwide who live by values of compassion, discipline, and peace.
Hate shouldn’t be used to fight hate. We must learn to separate extremists from the faith they twist for violence. The moment we generalize, we become part of the problem.
Condemn evil, not a whole religion.
