In the heated reactions, one user commented, “Nigeria has been an impossible union. The only realistic path left is to break it into independent regions.”
But using one extremist’s statement to justify the breakup of an entire country is reckless. Nigeria’s challenges are real, but pushing for disintegration every time a disturbing incident occurs ignores the complexity of nationhood.
Terrorism, extremism, and hate speech should be condemned — not used as fuel to divide millions.
