Comments like this usually come from a place of frustration, but throwing around “the president should resign” every time a national tragedy happens doesn’t help anything. It oversimplifies deep, long-standing security issues and places all blame on one individual, as if his removal would magically solve terrorism, banditry, or decades of systemic failures.

It also adds unnecessary tension at moments when people are already scared and emotional. Instead of calling for resignation in the heat of the moment, what Nigeria truly needs is pressure for accountability, stronger institutions, better security intelligence, and real reforms. Reducing everything to “Tinubu should resign” shuts down meaningful conversation and fuels more political hostility instead of productive solutions.
