A disturbing and completely unprovoked post recently targeted musician Simi and her child. The user wrote: “Simi is at her menopause age and she has just one child what if her child die??”

This statement is alarming on multiple levels. It imagines death upon a child, weaponizes a woman’s age, and treats motherhood as a numbers game rather than a deeply personal choice. Wishing or speculating about a child’s death—whether directly or indirectly—is not commentary; it is cruelty.

Such remarks cross basic moral and social boundaries. Public figures are not exempt from humanity, and children should never be dragged into malicious discourse. Normalizing this kind of language desensitizes society to harm and encourages dehumanization. Criticism has limits, and invoking death—especially involving a child—is far beyond them.
