This exchange is troubling because it normalizes the erasure of daughters and validates a deeply sexist belief. By agreeing with the statement, the commenter affirms the idea that girls do not count as children and that fatherhood is only complete through sons. Such views reduce children to gender and treat daughters as lesser or expendable.
Beyond its prejudice, the comment publicly disrespects a family by turning their joy into ridicule. Parenthood is defined by love, care, and responsibility—not by having a male child. Endorsing such narratives only perpetuates inequality and emotional harm.
