A recent Facebook comment, *“Too much school is starting to bring problem,”* was directed at a lady who expressed that men need the consent and approval of their wife before allowing their mother or siblings to visit. While some agreed that notifying the wife is important, they emphasized it should be out of courtesy, not for approval. The comment in question, however, blamed education for her stance.
This remark highlights an unfortunate tendency to criticize or dismiss people’s viewpoints by attributing them to “too much education.” Blaming education oversimplifies the issue and ignores the valid discussion about mutual respect in relationships. Instead of demeaning differing opinions, fostering respectful conversations about family dynamics and boundaries is crucial for building healthy partnerships. Education should empower, not be scapegoated.
