A negative post calling on voters to prevent anyone in their polling unit from voting for APC in the 2027 election took a dangerous turn when a comment stated, “If you find out anybody is voting APC in your areas, hand up and beat the person to serve as a deterrent to others.” This kind of incitement to violence goes against the very essence of democracy, where freedom of choice is a fundamental right.
Promoting physical harm based on political preference creates a toxic and fearful environment, discouraging people from exercising their rights. Elections should be a peaceful and fair process, allowing citizens to vote based on their beliefs without intimidation.
