A post on X (formerly Twitter) criticized COZA for showcasing wealth by welcoming a pastor with three Rolls Royces and a private jet. In response, someone commented, “The Catholic Church caused wars and benefits from it. What they have now is false piety and order.”

While the Catholic Church has a complex history, including involvement in political conflicts, such a sweeping statement ignores the positive role it plays today in education, healthcare, and charity. No institution is without flaws, but many Catholic communities remain committed to doing good and promoting spiritual growth.

Rather than deflecting criticism by pointing at past mistakes, the focus should be on ensuring accountability and integrity within all religious organizations. Churches must prioritize humility, service, and community impact over displays of wealth.
