Comments like this assume the role of judging someone’s afterlife, a role no human holds. Passing judgment on someone’s soul is not only insensitive but also disregards the solemnity of mourning. Moments of loss should be met with compassion, recognizing that only a higher power, not individuals, can judge a person’s soul.
Respecting the dignity of the deceased helps create a more understanding and empathetic community, even in the face of differing perspectives.
