Rapper Erigga recently shared advice with Nigerian men, stating, “Nigerian women have programmed us so bad that if we don’t send them money or foot their bills, then we do not deserve to be loved or treated with respect. Trying to get your life together? Do not, for any reason, get into a committed relationship. It’s a bondage.”
In response, one comment read: “The day men realize that they are the prize, that’s the day women will wake up and start being productive and accountable.”
While the comment stresses men recognizing their value, it oversimplifies relationship dynamics. Relationships should be built on mutual respect, trust, and shared responsibilities. Viewing one partner as superior risks undermining the foundation of healthy, balanced relationships.
