A post showed a Nigerian man in tears after a Fire burnt his life savings to ashes. Rather than show empathy one comment read “I know its bad to laugh, but I can’t help it” This is a very insensitive comment at a time when the man needs reassurance and support even from the public, the comment decided to laugh at his misfortune sending a message that their pain is entertainment. Which can bring about a spread of negativity.
Times like this message should reflect compassion and empathy.
