Following the interaction where a Nigerian woman asked rapper DDG for money, a comment claimed, “That’s what Nigerian girls are… begging everybody home and away.” Such sweeping generalizations unfairly label an entire demographic based on one individual’s actions. While the woman’s request may be critiqued, reducing Nigerian women to “beggars” ignores the countless women excelling in education, entrepreneurship, and advocacy globally.
