A man punched another driver in Lagos traffic after the latter accidentally hit his G-Wagon from behind. While many condemned the violent act, some justified it, attributing the aggressor’s actions to economic frustration. One comment read, “Na the amount wey he go take repair the motor for this economy and frustration of the hard economy naim make an dey punch am.”

This justification normalizes violence under the guise of economic hardship, which is dangerous. Regardless of financial stress, physical assault is unacceptable.
