Following the shocking killing of 13 worshippers in a Kaduna mosque, a disturbing comment surfaced: “Danger of training monsters. Tank God table z now turning around.” This statement reveals a troubling delight in the tragedy, as though innocent lives lost were some form of justified payback. Such comments are not only insensitive but also dangerous—they reinforce cycles of hatred and vengeance instead of encouraging peace. Innocent worshippers should never be dehumanized as “monsters.” In moments of national grief, what Nigeria needs is empathy, unity, and justice, not people finding satisfaction in the bloodshed of fellow citizens.
