On the chilling post where a man confessed to killing his girlfriend after she reported him to the EFCC, one user left a disturbing comment: “May God keep and guide you.” This is deeply troubling because it turns a prayer, something meant for good, into support for murder. Instead of showing compassion for the young woman whose life was cut short, or calling for justice, the commenter directed blessings toward the killer. Such responses normalize violence and send the wrong message that taking a life can somehow be excused or even rewarded, which is completely unacceptable.
