On the same disturbing post where a man confessed to killing his girlfriend after she reported him to the EFCC, one woman’s comment shockingly shifted all the blame to the victim. She wrote: “Some of my gender no dey try oooo! Ingrates plenty o! Make she go tell her Creator wetin carry her go back home that early.” This kind of statement is dangerous because it excuses the murderer’s actions while shaming the young woman who lost her life. No matter the disagreements or betrayal, nothing justifies taking someone’s life. Murder is never an acceptable response to pain or loss.
