Evangelist Ebuka Obi’s decision to build a free psychiatric hospital and old people’s home in the East drew widespread praise. Yet, some still dragged negativity into the conversation. One comment read: “As an Igbo man any of my investment that can’t be in both south east and south south, is better I built it aside the nation than to build it in the land of bitter heart peoples.” This remark attempts to paint the Yoruba as “bitter-hearted,” turning a noble act into an excuse for tribal insults. Such divisive comments only distract from the good being done for humanity.
