In response to Pastor Mildred’s statement, “A girl that will ask you for transport money na useless babe,” a comment argued, “So you asked for a date, are you not supposed to book an Uber for her? She was on her own in her house when you asked for a date… a real responsible man doesn’t even need to be told this.” This comment reflects an entitlement mindset, expecting men to bear full financial responsibility even for simple actions like transportation.
While it’s thoughtful for a man to arrange transport, expecting it as an obligation can create an imbalanced dynamic in relationships. Mutual respect should be the foundation of any relationship, where both parties contribute and communicate their expectations openly.
