Following NDLEA’s arrest of drug traffickers in Lagos, one user took tribalism to another level, writing, “I sure say nah those oloriburuku Omo Igbo-Omo eru that kona the Yoruba guy.” This statement not only insults Igbos with derogatory words but also wrongly blames them for the Yoruba man’s involvement. Crime is an individual choice, not a tribal conspiracy. Using demeaning language and shifting blame between tribes only deepens division and hatred. Instead of fueling hostility, the focus should remain on addressing drug trafficking itself and ensuring justice. Tribal name-calling only poisons unity and solves nothing.
