A man made a post comparing the price of bread in euros to its price in naira, seemingly addressing “wailers in Nigeria.” However, an aggressive response followed, stating, “An old man fooling himself… 9 Euro is one hour wage, is 16k naira one hour wage in Nigeria? Ridiculous and shameless old man.”
While the commenter raised a valid point about wage differences, the insults were out of proportion. Resorting to personal attacks undermines meaningful discourse. Critiquing ideas is valid, but disrespecting someone’s age or character only escalates tensions and detracts from the real issue. Constructive criticism, free from insults, fosters better dialogue and understanding in such discussions.
