Under the post about the man who discovered through a DNA test that he was not the biological father of his son after investing over 14,000 euros in the child’s upkeep, a user made an unrelated but highly derogatory remark: “Ago Palace and FESTAC Town remains the headquarters of Sodom and Gomorrah.”

This kind of comment is problematic on multiple levels. First, it diverts from a serious discussion about deception, paternity fraud, and accountability. Instead of addressing the actual issue, it shifts into baseless moral attacks on entire communities that had nothing to do with the incident.

Labeling Ago Palace or FESTAC Town as “Sodom and Gomorrah” paints millions of innocent residents as immoral and corrupt, reinforcing dangerous stereotypes and encouraging discrimination. It also reduces real places to careless moral slurs simply because of one viral story with no direct connection to them.

Such sweeping generalisations are irresponsible. Issues around paternity fraud should be discussed without dragging unrelated communities into unnecessary stigma.
