In the aftermath of a shocking crime involving a woman and her pastor, a comment accused, “Akwa Ibom women… very wicked things on skirt. God forbid marrying them.”
This statement is a damaging stereotype that unfairly labels an entire group based on an individual’s actions. Such remarks perpetuate discrimination, harm social cohesion, and fuel tribal and regional biases.
Crimes are committed by individuals, not ethnicities. Accountability should focus on those directly involved rather than spreading unwarranted hatred.
