A disturbing report from Akwa Ibom revealed that police raided a shrine, arrested five suspected rapists, and recovered coffins along with numerous used female sanitary pads—evidence pointing to a horrific crime. While many condemned the act, one user chose to inject tribalism, stating, “This is the handiwork of the Igbo people living in Akwa-Ibom state. Nothing more.”

This kind of comment is reckless and divisive. Instead of focusing on the crime and the need for justice, it shifts blame to an entire ethnic group without evidence. Such tribal profiling fuels hate, distracts from accountability, and undermines efforts to fight crime based on facts—not prejudice.
