Shockingly, one response described the incident as “Good APC progress.” This comment is deeply insensitive and dangerous. It reduces human suffering to political sarcasm, using violence against innocent people as a tool to score partisan points. Kidnapping is not “progress” under any government—it is a failure of security, governance, and leadership. Mocking victims to criticize a political party dehumanizes those affected and normalizes brutality. Political accountability is necessary, but celebrating or trivializing terror only deepens societal decay. When insecurity is framed as progress, it reveals how desensitized public discourse has become.
