In reaction to the viral video showing reckless bus drivers reversing on the highway to evade arrest, one user took a different — and unfortunate — turn, commenting, “Nigerians and chaos can’t be separated.” Instead of condemning the drivers’ dangerous behavior, the person chose to insult an entire nation. This kind of generalization is unfair and damaging. While some individuals act irresponsibly, it doesn’t define all Nigerians. Many citizens obey traffic laws and value safety. Blaming a whole population for the recklessness of a few only spreads negativity. Criticism should target wrongdoing, not a people. Change begins with fairness, not stereotypes.
