In the midst of the online debate about Sowore’s alleged involvement in the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu’s brother and lawyer, one tribal comment stood out: “U go dey trust Yoruba man.” This kind of remark is a glaring example of how tribal bias continues to poison public discourse. Distrusting someone solely because of their ethnic background is prejudice, not wisdom. Every tribe has both good and bad individuals — no group holds a monopoly on virtue or deceit. Comments like this only deepen division and resentment. Nigeria cannot move forward when trust is judged by tribe rather than character.
