In response to a man’s painful story about his wife’s infidelity and financial support of her side partner, one woman commented, “There’s only one reason why this woman is so obsessed with the guy. He makes her happy, and satisfied in the other room. Period.”
This comment is deeply problematic. It reduces betrayal to mere sexual satisfaction and justifies cheating as acceptable if physical needs are met elsewhere. Such thinking dismisses the emotional damage caused by infidelity and shifts blame to the victim, as though loyalty must be earned through performance.
