Comment:

“Nigeria is now a failed state. Citizens should rise up against their current government and hold them to accountability on their negligence to these issues in the country.”

Why This Comment Is Harmful

It’s true that people are frustrated, scared, and tired of constant insecurity. But calling Nigeria a “failed state” and urging citizens to “rise up” against the government crosses from criticism into dangerous agitation. Comments like this can spark unrest, escalate tensions, and push vulnerable people toward chaotic actions that worsen the situation.

Holding leaders accountable is absolutely necessary—but there are constitutional, legal, and organized ways to do that. Encouraging a mass uprising in an already fragile climate is irresponsible and can lead to violence, loss of lives, and deeper instability. What Nigeria needs is pressure, policy reform, and consistent civic engagement—not reckless calls that sound like a trigger for revolt.
