Under the viral video showing hundreds of armed bandits in Katsina allegedly holding “peace talks,” one alarming comment read: “Don’t let anybody deceive you, Nigeria don finished ajeh.”
This kind of statement reflects a deep sense of hopelessness many Nigerians feel as insecurity escalates. When citizens see terrorists moving freely in large numbers, heavily armed and unchallenged, it becomes easy for despair to overshadow reality. But comments like this also fuel panic, exaggerate fear, and spread the idea that the entire country is beyond repair — which is not only untrue but dangerous.
Nigeria is in crisis, yes, but declaring the nation “finished” only deepens helplessness instead of pushing for accountability, reform, and coordinated action. The situation is critical, but hopelessness cannot be the response.
