After the demolition of 19 buildings at Trade Fair Plaza, many Nigerians called for proper land verification and accountability from government agencies. Yet, some comments shifted blame onto the victims instead of the system. One Igbo man was told: “Don’t invest in Lagos.” This advice misses the point. The problem is not about where someone chooses to invest but about governance, transparency, and protection of citizens’ rights. Reducing it to tribal lines ignores the root cause — poor regulation and abuse of power. Nigerians deserve security for their investments everywhere, without being limited by tribe or location.
