A recent comment under a discussion about choosing between a master’s degree in the U.S. or an NNPC job claimed, “You fit dey NNPC make person do you juju. Everybody working there currently has a strong Juju man.” Such remarks perpetuate harmful stereotypes and undermine the achievements of hardworking individuals. Linking success to mystical forces dismisses the role of education, dedication, and merit. This mindset discourages ambition and fosters unnecessary fear.
