This statement is deeply insensitive and discriminatory. Poverty is not a moral failure, and detesting people because they are poor reflects arrogance and a lack of empathy. Many Nigerians struggle due to systemic issues — unemployment, inflation, and poor governance — not because they choose to be needy. While entitlement should be discouraged, equating it with poverty is wrong. The focus should be on promoting gratitude and responsibility, not on shaming the less privileged. Comments like this only widen the divide between the rich and poor and foster hatred instead of understanding.
