An X personality reported a tragic incident in Sokoto where terrorists killed Muslims and abducted others, mainly young girls.
One user responded: “Just say una squad vex last night kill people for una area,” referring to the attackers as a “squad” because they, like the poster, are also Muslims.
This comment is deeply insensitive. Framing the massacre casually as a “squad” dispute trivializes the loss of innocent lives and treats terrorism as if it were a minor conflict. It dismisses the gravity of the situation, disrespects victims, and spreads dangerous normalization of violence. Assigning blame along religious lines only fuels division and hate.
Red flag 🚨: Treating murder and abduction casually or jokingly is a clear warning of moral indifference and societal danger.
