Following the news that the Nigerian government gifted the Super Falcons and D’tigress cash and landed properties for their victories, many celebrated the well-deserved recognition. However, one comment took a negative turn, mocking the Nigerian military by writing, “Nigerian army and navy ntoooh,” implying that they don’t earn as much or receive equal recognition.

While it’s valid to raise concerns about the welfare of security personnel, mocking them in comparison to athletes is unfair and disrespectful. Both professions serve the nation in different but vital ways—one through national defense, the other through sports excellence and global representation. Turning one group’s celebration into another’s ridicule only fosters resentment and division.
