A man shared how fellow Igbo men’s houses in Lagos were demolished by the government — a painful loss that deserved sympathy. Instead, one comment cheered: “I love it, develop ur home you all said No…” — celebrating the destruction because the properties weren’t built in the East. That kind of glee at another person’s misfortune is corrosive. Regional pride shouldn’t justify vindictiveness. Homes are more than structures; they’re livelihoods and memories. If we truly care for our people, we demand fairness and due process for everyone — not rejoice when people lose what they worked for.
