When media personality Ifedayo Agoro shared that she and her husband attended one of his ex’s weddings, she noted that being friends with an ex isn’t a big deal. But one comment took a violent turn: “#Na u and your husband sabi, as for me and my house, no ex comes closer or na goner.” This is troubling because it glorifies violence instead of healthy boundaries. It’s okay to set personal limits on relationships with exes, but threatening harm crosses the line. Love should not be built on fear or aggression—respect, trust, and communication are safer foundations for any relationship.
