Amid the comments, one woman shared that she had once experienced sexual abuse by a relative and never spoke about it. Instead of empathy or concern, another user replied: “But this one na house maid na me go Kalaputa oo,” implying that because the woman is a domestic worker, non-consensual sex would be acceptable. This comment is extremely dangerous. It promotes sexual violence, dehumanizes domestic workers, and reinforces the idea that power and proximity justify abuse.
