The FCT Police Command’s post about foiling a robbery attempt in Kado took an even more disturbing turn after a user displayed clear fraudulent intent in the comment section. Alongside the recovered items—guns, a catapult, and other exhibits—an ATM card was also visible in the uploaded photos.
Instead of focusing on public safety, one user made a shocking request: “Please can you snap the ATM card very well for me, front and back.”
The comment was widely condemned for openly suggesting cybercrime and identity theft. Many users noted how casually fraud is sometimes discussed online, even under official security posts. Critics argued that such remarks highlight the depth of moral decay and desperation, where criminal opportunity is spotted instantly, even in law enforcement evidence.
For many, the comment reinforced concerns about how normalized fraud has become in online spaces.
