In the ongoing debate about single parenting, one biased comment dismissed fathers’ roles, saying: “Even in marriages it’s still the mother that raises the kids.” While mothers often carry a heavier share of child-rearing, this statement unfairly erases the vital contributions of fathers. Many fathers play active roles in nurturing, disciplining, mentoring, and providing emotional balance for their children. Parenting is a partnership, and both roles are important. Dismissing fathers undermines the efforts of men who are present and responsible.
