In reaction to the paternity test controversy, one user made a somewhat controversial comment: “In my family a child must look like the father. If not you don cheat.”
While it may sound like a straightforward belief, this statement is misleading and unfair. Genetics doesn’t work in such a rigid way—children can resemble their mother, grandparents, or even distant relatives. Assuming that a child who doesn’t look like the father must be a product of infidelity creates unnecessary suspicion and tension in families. Such a mindset fuels distrust instead of strengthening bonds. Parenthood should be based on love, responsibility, and trust, not shallow physical resemblance alone.
