A post showed a northern pastor who passionately called out the ongoing Christian genocide in the region, drawing international attention and prompting a reported threat from the U.S. government to intervene if Nigeria failed to act. In reaction, one user commented, “In Nigeria we have only one pastor which is this man, others are business men.”

While this may seem like praise for the pastor’s courage, the comment generalizes and discredits thousands of other genuine pastors across the country. Many religious leaders also risk their safety to speak up for justice and peace. Labeling all others as “businessmen” diminishes the impact of their work and promotes unnecessary division within the faith community at a time when unity is most needed.
