After the Lagos State Government demolished over 19 buildings at Trade Fair Plaza, a surprising reaction came from an Igbo man who wrote: “Yes is Good.” This response is both insensitive and harmful. Supporting the destruction of people’s hard-earned investments, especially without considering the legal and human cost, shows a lack of empathy. Many families lost their livelihoods and futures in that demolition. Instead of applauding misfortune, the focus should be on demanding transparency from government agencies, fair compensation, and stricter land verification processes. Standing with victims encourages justice; mocking them only deepens the pain and division.
